Ahmad Abou shrub, pencil on paper (37.5 x 27.5 cm)

Ahmad Abou shrub, pencil on paper (37.5 x 27.5 cm)

Ahmad describes his life story in the drawing. On the top half of the drawing you see the town Manbij (Menbitj) in Syria where he lived. The ongoing war doesn't make it a safe place to live. The Syrian freedom flag is on the roof of a building that has a text written on the wall saying: Manbij welcomes you! (Arabic) Close to the village people are fighting and dying. The sky is crying. On the bottom half of the drawing you see a place far away, where Ahmad is now, where it is safe. Nobody gets killed, no bad things happen and the people love each other. The tomato, potato and the pigeon live happily and safe in the big house, where a sign outside says Mr Potato and Mrs tomato welcome you in their house. It is far away from the war. The cat lives free outside in his tree house. DO WELL AND STAY SAFE.

Ahmad, 19 years, born Manbij likes to make people aware of the situation in Syria. He expressed himself on paper to explain his story. He loves animals, specifically chicken and his kitten but he really gets angry at them when they eat newly grown plants!
