GET INVOLVED!
We would love you to volunteer with us!!
Would you like to cook in the Khora Social Kitchen, or organise donations at our Free Shop, or perhaps work with the Khora Asylum Support Team? We welcome people from all over the world to contribute their time and enthusiasm to help us create a supportive community and run Khora’s various services.
We look forward to seeing you!
What we ask from you
Whether you already live in Athens, or are travelling to Athens specifically to volunteer with us, we request a minimum commitment of 4 weeks, although we always prefer to have people joining us for longer. We find that this adds to the sense of community building and supports the running of the centre. KAST volunteers receive an in-depth training and so we ask for a minimum commitment of 6 months or 4 months if you can interpret/translate.
An open mind and enthusiasm.
Flexibility, because we respond to needs as they occur. Our working week is seldom the same.
A willingness to join our team and to take on some responsibility within the working groups in which you are involved.
What we can provide for you and what you can expect
Khora is a vibrant community of volunteers and this is your chance to be a part of it. There are skill sharing and learning opportunities and we’ll help guide and support you during your time here. You can read more about us here.
After your induction (see below), you’ll have the opportunity to sign up to our weekly schedule for the projects you’d like to volunteer with.
Applications

Induction:
Fridays 3pm @ Free Shop Asklipiou 113, Exarchia
Inductions
We require all volunteers to attend an induction before they begin volunteering with Khora. We usually hold inductions twice a week. This is an informal meeting to get to know each other, learn about Khora, how we are organized and how we make decisons. You will learn about the various projects and how you can begin to volunteer with us. It’s also a chance to ask questions. At the end of the induction you will have the opportunity to join various working groups and decide which shifts best fit your schedule.
