Asylum Support Team

The Khora Asylum Support Team (KAST) is a team of volunteers who recognise that the provision of up-to-date and accurate information is essential in ensuring displaced people’s access to the asylum system, health care, accommodation, and other services. Our aim is to fill the gap in information sharing and advocacy here in Athens.

At KAST, we

  • provide information on the asylum procedure, health care, accommodation, basic needs (social kitchens, free shops, social pharmacies), and bureaucratic procedures (AFM, AMKA, bank account)

  • signpost and make referrals to available legal aid organisations and/or social services in Athens

  • book hospital appointments, and do accompaniments to public services including hospitals and asylum offices.

All displaced people can access our services independently of their legal status.
